Is in his 16th season in the D-backs' organization (22nd overall) and second at the Major League level as third base coach.

COACHING CAREER

Served in various roles in the D-backs' farm system from 2003-16, including Minor League Field and Infield Coordinator from 2014-16...Began his coaching career as the hitting coach for Double-A Norwich in 1997...also worked as a hitting coach from 1998-2002 in the Yankees' organization... Spent 3 years as manager in the D-backs' Minor League system with Rookie-Advanced Missoula (2003), Single-A South Bend (2004) and Double-A Tennessee (2005)...Led the Silver Hawks to the semifinals of the 2004 Midwest League playoffs.

PLAYING CAREER

Played 11 Minor League seasons as an infielder in Giants' (1984- 91), Indians' (1992) and Yankees' (1994-95) organizations...Hit .228 with 5 RBI in 69 Major League games for the Giants (1988, 1990-91) and Indians (1991-92)...Made his MLB debut on Sept. 7, 1988 vs. Braves and collected his fi rst hit (single off Hall of Famer Tom Glavine)...Played for Mexico City in 1996...Selected by the Giants in the third round of the 1984 draft.

PERSONAL

Married to Natalie…has 3 children: A.J., Alexandria and Jasmine...Is a 1984 graduate of Palm Springs (Calif.) High School.
