LOS ANGELES -- Conor Jackson was out of the lineup Monday for the second consecutive day as D-backs manager A.J. Hinch tries to give his left fielder a couple of days to clear his head.
Jackson, who is hitting .221, has been pressing of late, and Gerardo Parra got the nod in his place again.
"I've given Conor a couple of days off on purpose to clear everything away from the last series," Hinch said. "More than likely, he'll be back in there [Tuesday], but if Parra performs, then I may stick with him."
Hinch is hopeful the couple of days will get Jackson pointed in the right direction.
"When a hitter is going well, you want to leave him in the lineup," Hinch said. "Sometimes when a hitter is going not as well, getting him away from at-bats can kind of restart a guy."
Hinch did say he would not hesitate to use Jackson in a pinch-hit situation.
