Webb pays a visit to D-backs' clubhouse

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- Brandon Webb walking through the D-backs' clubhouse is not an unfamiliar sight.

However, Webb walking through the D-backs' clubhouse wearing a Rangers uniform is another story.

Webb went through a session of long toss on a back diamond at Salt River Fields at Talking Stick on Saturday before his new team, the Rangers, played the D-backs.

"The main field looks nice, but the practice fields and the stuff over here are ridiculous," he said after walking out of the team's two-story weight room. "I haven't seen a big league clubhouse as nice as this one. The weight room, the training room, it's all first class. It's unbelievable. This is awesome."

Webb signed as a free agent in Texas after spending nearly 11 years in the D-backs' organization.

"It's different being in blue, but I really like it over there," he said. "The guys seem real good, the team is going to be good, so that helps. I like it, I like it a lot. I'm happy with how things worked out. It took me maybe a week, week-and-a-half to get comfortable, and it's great now. The guys are great to be around."

Webb has not pitched in a Major League game since Opening Day 2009 due to shoulder issues, but says he is feeling good and is scheduled to throw a bullpen session on Sunday.

"I've got no issues right now, so it's good days," he said.
