CINCINNATI -- D-backs third baseman Melvin Mora was in Tuesday night's starting lineup when it was first released, but he was scratched moments later.
According to manager Kirk Gibson, Mora was still feeling the effects of jamming his left foot into the first base bag after grounding out as a pinch-hitter in Sunday's win over the Giants.
"He went out and warmed up ... he was still a little sore," Gibson said. "We wanted to make sure he's OK. He could be available to pinch-hit."
Mora is batting .281 in 11 games, including eight starts at third.
Ryan Roberts, who is hitting .355, is making his seventh start at third and batting second on Tuesday night in Mora's absence.
In other lineup news, catcher Miguel Montero was moved back to sixth after batting eighth on Sunday. Juan Miranda made his sixth start at first base, batting eighth.
