Drew exits after tweaking nagging groin injury
SAN DIEGO -- D-backs shortstop Stephen Drew was removed from Saturday's game and will likely not play Sunday due to tightness in his right groin.

It's the same injury that caused him to be scratched from the starting lineup last Wednesday against the Rockies.

Drew said he aggravated the groin while turning a double play to end the third inning but that he was hopeful to be able to play in the team's three-game series against the Giants that starts Tuesday.

The D-backs are off Monday, which means if he doesn't play Sunday, Drew will get two full days to rest the injury.

"He's been fighting that for a while," D-backs manager Kirk Gibson said. "He kind of irritated it a little bit. He probably won't play [Sunday]."
