PHOENIX -- D-backs reliever Sam Demel threw his second bullpen on Tuesday as he continues to come back from right shoulder tendinitis.
"It went really well," Demel said of the bullpen. "Kind of went at low intensity, about 75 percent but I feel good."
Demel was placed on the disabled list on May 24. He has a 1.72 ERA in 21 appearances this season and has allowed only three earned runs.
The right-hander endured a setback after his first bullpen over the road trip.
"After the first one, he didn't bounce back the way we had hoped, so we shut him down and did some more strengthening," D-backs manager Kirk Gibson said.
Demel said the strength in his shoulder just wasn't there from taking two weeks off.
He is scheduled to throw another bullpen on Friday.
"We'll see how it goes the next time," Demel said. "We'll crank up the intensity a little bit and go from there."
