D-backs make adjustments to 40-man roster
PHOENIX -- The D-backs made a few moves this week to clean up their 40-man roster.

Infielder Sean Burroughs, catcher Robby Hammock and left-handed pitcher Alberto Castillo were outrighted to Triple-A Reno and therefore removed from the 40-man roster.

Outfielder David Winfree was added to the 40-man roster.

The moves leave the D-backs with 38 players on their 40-man roster. Shortstop Stephen Drew and pitcher Jason Marquis, who are both on the 60-day disabled list, do not count on the 40-man.

Burroughs was the club's primary pinch-hitter off the bench and hit .273 in 110 at-bats, while Hammock was a late-season addition as a third catcher and received just two at-bats.

Castillo had a 2.31 ERA in 17 games out of the bullpen.

Winfree was a non-roster invitee to Spring Training. In 39 games for Reno he hit .321 with an OPS (on-base plus slugging) of .963.
