PHOENIX -- A trio of Reds pitchers held Arizona to just four baserunners Saturday, while the Cincinnati offense pounded out 16 hits as the Reds shutout the D-backs, 9-0, at Chase Field in the final tune-up for both clubs before Opening Day.

Homer Bailey tossed the first six clean innings for Cincinnati, while Justin Freeman and Curtis Partch finished off the game.

Wade Miley got the start for the D-backs, allowing nine hits and four runs over six frames. Randall Delgado followed him by throwing the next 2 1/3 innings, giving up three runs on three hits.

Delgado was competing for the fifth starter job in the Arizona rotation alongside Patrick Corbin. With Saturday's results, the right-hander finished his spring surrendering 14 earned runs over 19 innings of work.

Joey Votto put the Reds on the scoreboard first in the third inning with a two-out RBI double to score Bailey, who singled to lead off the frame. After the next batter walked, Jay Bruce and Todd Frazier tacked on two more runs with RBI singles, giving Cincinnati a 3-0 lead.

Two innings later, Ryan Ludwick extended the advantage to four by driving in Devin Lohman with a sacrifice fly. Ray Chang and Chris Heisey capped off the scoring for the Reds by driving in five more runs in the final two innings.

D-backs Up Next: The D-backs open the 2013 regular season against the Cardinals on Monday with a 7:05 p.m. MST game at Chase Field. Right-hander Ian Kennedy will get the ball for the D-backs. This will be Kennedy's third straight Opening Day start.
