D-backs recall pitcher Tyler Skaggs as 26th man

The Arizona Diamondbacks (@Dbacks) recalled left-handed pitcher Tyler Skaggs (@TylerSkaggs37) from Triple-A Reno as the 26th Man for today's doubleheader vs. Texas, according to D-backs' Executive Vice President & General Manager Kevin Towers.

Skaggs, 22, was 4-5 with a 5.23 ERA (30 ER in 51.2 IP) in 9 starts this season with Triple-A Reno. In his last 3 starts, he went 2-1 with a 2.66 ERA (6 ER in 20.1 IP).

Skaggs was 1-3 with a 5.83 ERA (19 ER in 29.1 IP) in 6 starts with Arizona last season. He earned the win in his Major League debut in the first game of a doubleheader on Aug. 22, 2012 vs. Marlins (2 ER in 6.2 IP).

By rule, he will be optioned back to Reno following the conclusion of the doubleheader.
