"Does this slow him down a little bit? It probably does, yes."
Initially, Hudson was expected to return from last July's Tommy John surgery around the All-Star Break, but recently it looked like he might be able to return as soon as a few weeks from now.
After throwing in extended spring games, Tuesday was his first start against higher level competition and in front of a crowd.
"You get into a game, you probably have never quite let it go like that so far," Gibson said. "You're stressing your arm in a different fashion than you have so far since your surgery. I'm pretty optimistic about it."
