D-backs sell Madrigal to Chunichi Dragons


PHOENIX -- The Arizona Diamondbacks (@Dbacks) announced they have sold right-handed pitcher Warner Madrigal to the Chunichi Dragons of Japan's Central League, according to D-backs' Executive Vice President & General Manager.

Madrigal, 29, is 1-0 with a 2.75 ERA (11 ER in 36.0 IP) and 41 strikeouts in 22 relief appearances with Triple-A Reno. In 44 Major League games (1 start) with Texas (2008-09), he was 0-2 with 1 save and a 6.10 ERA (33 ER in 48.2 IP).

Madrigal was signed by the D-backs as a Minor League free agent on Dec. 17, 2012.
