D-backs recall Skaggs and Brewer from Triple-A Reno


The Arizona Diamondbacks (@Dbacks) have recalled left-handed pitcher Tyler Skaggs (@TylerSkaggs37) and right-handed pitcher Charles Brewer (@CharlesBrewerAZ) from Triple-A Reno and optioned outfielder Tony Campana (@Tcampana24) and right-handed pitcher Chaz Roe to Reno, according to D-backs' Executive Vice President & General Manager Kevin Towers.

Skaggs, who turns 22 next Saturday, was 6-6 with a 4.26 ERA (36 ER in 76.0 IP) in 13 games (11 starts) with the Aces this season. He went 4-2 with a 2.42 ERA (12 ER in 44.2 IP) in his last 7 games (5 starts), including 8.1 scoreless innings with 13 strikeouts on June 29 @ Sacramento.

Skaggs has made 3 starts with the D-backs in 2013, going 1-1 with a 5.40 ERA (10 ER in 16.2 IP).

Brewer, 25, has gone 3-7 with a 5.38 ERA (50 ER in 83.2 IP) in 15 games (14 starts) with Reno in 2013. He threw 1.2 scoreless innings on June 10 @ Dodgers, becoming the first player born in Arizona to make his Major League debut with the D-backs.

Campana, 27, went 3-for-10 (.300) with 2 stolen bases in 2 games with the D-backs after his recall from Reno on July 2. He was hitting .288 (67-for-233) with 8 doubles, 3 triples, 1 home run, 22 RBI and 24 stolen bases in 71 games with the Aces in 2013.

Roe, 26, appeared in 3 games with the D-backs after his contract was selected from the Aces on July 1, going 1-0 with a 4.91 ERA (2 ER in 3.2 IP). He made his Major League debut on July 1 @ Mets and earned his first win in yesterday's 5-4 win @ Citi Field. He was 0-1 with 5 saves and a 1.59 ERA (2 ER in 11.1 IP) in 12 appearances with Reno and Double-A Mobile this season.
