The Arizona Diamondbacks (@Dbacks) will continue to wear the black "Arizona" jerseys for the remainder of the homestand and have extended the 50-percent discount to military and first responders through July 14. D-backs players approached management to request to continue to wear the jerseys through the remainder of the homestand.
The D-backs have already raised more than $500,000 to benefit the 100 Club of Arizona, American Red Cross, Prescott Firefighters Charities and other charities that will assist in the rebuilding efforts. The team paid tribute to the 19 fallen Granite Mountain Hotshot Firefighters on Friday in front of a sold out crowd that also set a record $100,000 raised in that night's 50/50 Raffle.
Fans are encouraged to continue to donate online at www.dbacks.com/19 as the Arizona Diamondbacks Foundation has already matched donations with a $200,000 gift. Fans who donate $19 or more will be entered for a chance to win a team-signed home white jersey with the name "Yarnell" and No. 19. Through July 14, the D-backs are auctioning off the game-worn and autographed black "Arizona" tribute jerseys and signed nameplates from the D-backs Clubhouse online at www.dbacks.com/auctions.
