The Bronx Bombers will visit Chase Field from June 21-23 as part of Interleague Play, the second time they have done so during the regular season. The D-backs played host to the Yankees for a three-game series in 2004, two exhibition games in '06 and of course four games during the '01 World Series.
For the second year in a row, the D-backs will open the season at home with a 2:10 p.m. MST game against the Padres.
Whereas the 2009 schedule had the D-backs home for all but four games in April, this year it will be almost an even split with 12 games at home and 11 on the road. The Pirates, Cardinals and Phillies will also visit Phoenix during the season's opening month.
"I am extremely pleased with next year's schedule," Arizona team president and CEO Derrick Hall said. "The home games are spread out evenly throughout the months, and we have some wonderful draws like Opening Day at home, the New York Yankees and Fourth of July weekend."
In addition to the Yankees, the D-backs will host the Blue Jays on May 21-23 as part of Interleague Play and travel to Boston on June 15-17, to Detroit on June 18-20 and to Tampa on June 25-27.
Tickets for the series against the Yankees could be hard to come by. Full-season ticket holders will receive tickets to all three Yankees games while those who purchase half-season or 28-game plans will receive tickets to at least one game against the Yankees.
Those who are not season-ticket holders may register online for the opportunity to purchase individual-game tickets to one of the three games against the Yankees. Fans that register beginning Tuesday will automatically be eligible for the random drawing for individual-game ticket purchase opportunities for the Yankees series.
The random drawing will be held before individual-game tickets go on sale. Those whose names are selected will have an opportunity to purchase the tickets at a date and time which will be indicated in an e-mail sent to them.
The D-backs close out the 2010 season on the road with a six-game road trip that includes three games each against the Giants (Sept. 28-30) and Dodgers (Oct. 1-3).
The division-rival Dodgers will visit Chase Field on May 10-12, July 2-4 and Sept. 24-26, while the Cubs will come to town on July 5-7.
Individual tickets for 2010 regular-season games will go on sale early next year. Seat locations for 2010 partial- and full-season ticket plans are currently on sale. More information about season tickets is available online or by calling 602-462-4600.
