The Cubs Emilio Bonifacio opened up the bottom of the first inning with a hit to center and when Tony Campana took his time retrieving the ball, Bonifacio hustled into second. The throw from Campana was on line and as Bonifacio dove headfirst into second, second baseman Aaron Hill dove to tag him.
Bellino called him safe and Gibson elected to challenge the call.
Since his challenge was not successful, the move left Gibson without a challenge the rest of the game.
Gibson won a replay challenge April 15 when D-back A.J. Pollock was called out at first base and he lost a challenge on April 10 when Campana was called out on an attempted steal. That call stood.
