PHOENIX -- D-backs outfielder Alfredo Marte is determined to make the most of his time with the big league club this time around.
Marte entered Wednesday with four hits, including three doubles, in his first 12 at-bats since being recalled from Triple-A Reno on May 2. He was batting .342 with five doubles, 11 RBIs and nine runs scored in 26 games for the Aces before his promotion.
"It's great to be back in the big leagues and sharing this experience with the guys," Marte said in Spanish. "It's hard not to play every day, but it's a process and you learn how to adjust. Nobody likes to be on the bench, but you just wait on your chance to show what you can do and help the team how you can."
Marte hit .186 with three doubles in 22 games for the D-backs last season.
"I feel like the experience has helped me," Marte said. "I learned a lot my last time here. I'm a little more comfortable and I think it is showing when I play."
