"He had to come out of the game. It blew up pretty good on him," Gibson said. "He hit it off the top of his ankle so I had to get him out of there. I think he'll be OK, but it's pretty swollen up. He couldn't hit."
Cliff Pennington took over at second base.
Hill was 1-for-3 in Game 2, and was 0-for-2 with two walks in Game 1.
The 32-year-old missed three games last week due to a sore shoulder before returning to the lineup on Wednesday in St. Louis.
