PHOENIX - The Arizona Diamondbacks (@Dbacks) and FOX Sports Arizona (@FOXSPORTSAZ) will encourage all fans to vote for Paul Goldschmidt and his teammates for the 2014 MLB All-Star Game both in-stadium and online during the broadcast this Saturday, June 21. Yesterday, it was announced that Goldschmidt moved into the top spot among National League first basemen for a starting spot, climbing four positions in three weeks since the first voting update. He currently holds a lead of more than 200,000 votes as he seeks to be the first D-backs player to start an All-Star Game since Luis Gonzalez in 2001.
Throughout Saturday's telecast, FOX Sports Arizona will encourage fans to vote up to 35 times on dbacks.com or to visit the voting headquarters at Chase Field, located by Section 131. Laptops will be set up in order to assist fans in voting and any fan or viewer who votes online more than 20 times will be entered into a drawing to receive an autographed Goldschmidt bat and meet the D-backs' first baseman. Fans can also fill out paper ballots in stadium and any fan that fills out 100 ballots will be entered into a drawing with the opportunity to throw out the ceremonial first pitch at an upcoming game.
The D-backs are also running a contest on Twitter and encourage fans to tweet photos of them voting along with the hashtag #VoteDbacks. One lucky fan will win a baseball signed by the D-backs' 2014 All-Star(s).
Coverage on FOX Sports Arizona will start at 6:30PM with Diamondbacks Live.
During that evening's broadcast only, a special ticket offer will be made available for fans to purchase an Infield Reserve ticket for $14 (regular price $22) or an Infield Box ticket for $44 to match Goldschmidt's uniform number (regular price $60). The ticket offer will be available for the July 19 game in which the team will give out an All-Star t-shirt featuring the D-backs' 2014 All-Star(s), courtesy of Arizona Sports 98.7 FM.
