D-backs select INF/OF Nick Evans from Triple-A Reno


SAN DIEGO - The Arizona Diamondbacks (@Dbacks) selected the contract of infielder/outfielder Nick Evans from Triple-A Reno, according to D-backs' Executive Vice President & General Manager Kevin Towers.

Evans, 28, was hitting .354 (70-for-198) with 18 doubles, 11 home runs and 47 RBI in 51 games with the Aces this season. He also appeared in 8 games with the D-backs this season from May 28-June 12, going 1-for-11 (.091) with 1 homer and 1 RBI. Evans will wear No. 28.

Evans replaces right-handed pitcher Zeke Spruill on the roster, who was optioned to Reno following Wednesday's game vs. Cleveland.

The D-backs 40-man roster is now at 40.
