Laker is in his first season on the D-backs' coaching staff as assistant hitting coach...Managed Double-A West Tennessee to the Southern League playoff s in 2010...Played 11 Major League seasons with the Expos (1992-93, '95), Orioles (1997), Devil Rays (1998, 2005), Pirates (1998-99) and Indians (2001, '03-04, '06)...Collected his first Major League hit (single) and RBI off Braves Hall of Famer Tom Glavine on Aug. 19, 1992.

COACHING CAREER

Is in his first season on a Major League coaching staff after serving in various roles in the Indians (2007-09, '16), Mariners (2010) and White Sox (2011-15) organizations...Spent 2016 as hitting coach with Double-A Akron (Indians)… worked the previous 5 seasons in the White Sox system as hitting coach with Triple-A Charlotte (2011), hitting coordinator (2012-14) and hitting instructor (2015)...In 2008-09, served as catching coordinator for the Indians' Short Season-A Mahoning Valley Scrappers.

MANAGERIAL CAREER

Posted 110-103 (.516) record over 2 seasons as manager with Mahoning Valley (2007) and Double-A West Tennessee (2010)...Led the Diamond Jaxx to the Southern League playoffs in 2010.

PLAYING CAREER

Played professionally for 19 seasons, including parts of 11 seasons in the Majors, hitting .226 with 28 doubles, 11 home runs and 79 RBI in 282 games with Montreal (1992-95), Baltimore (1997), Tampa Bay (1998, 2005), Pittsburgh (1998-99) and Cleveland (2001-04, '06).
